Job summary

LifeLabs is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for a permanent part-time role focused on chemistry testing and regulatory compliance. The position involves processing and interpreting diagnostic samples, ensuring quality and patient confidentiality, and contributing to continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate holds a Medical Laboratory Science degree, is CMLTO registered, and has at least 3 years of chemistry experience with strong QA/QC skills and familiarity with APX and Intrlab LIS

Qualifications

• College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
• CMLTO registered and in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of current Chemistry experience is required
• Strong Quality Assurance and Quality Control knowledge with QC troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of Regulatory Compliance including IQMH, CAP, Proficiencies and outlier follow-up.
• Ability to multi-task, delegate, support and work collaboratively with Bio-Chemists, Management and Quality and Regulatory Affairs.
• Familiar with APX and Intrlab LIS systems.

Purpose of the role

Our Medical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Through accuracy, quality, efficiency and expediting test results, you will contribute to patient well-being and the achievement of better health outcomes. LifeLabs facilities are also known as teaching laboratories and offer opportunities to share knowledge in a collaborative environment. You will have 24-hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical Library, and the ability to teach our college and university student placements.
Status: Permanent Part Time

Shift: Flexible working hours requirement. Min 7.5 upto 37.5 hours a week

• Understanding of Regulatory Compliance including IQMH, CAP, Proficiencies and outlier follow-up.
• Proven ability of strong organizational behavior with the capability to multi-task, delegate, support and work collaboratively with Bio-Chemists, Management and Quality and Regulatory Affairs.
• The successful candidate must be familiar and comfortable with APX and Intrlab LIS systems.
