LifeLabs in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our chemistry discipline on a permanent full-time basis. The role supports overnight operations and requires CMLTO registration and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities include processing and analyzing specimens, reporting results, ensuring patient confidentiality, and participating in continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
• CMLTO registered and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Conducting a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing.
• Prepare and process samples, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
• Performing, interpreting and releasing results, while ensuring the confidentiality of patient information.
• Identifying incidents and non-conformities, participating in the development of effective corrective action plans, escalating as appropriate and driving continuous improvement.
• Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of new technology.
• Participating in problem solving in work organization and workflow.
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Job description

Our Medical Lab Technologists provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Through accuracy, quality, efficiency and expediting test results, you will contribute to patient well-being and the achievement of better health outcomes. LifeLabs facilities are also known as teaching laboratories and offer opportunities to share knowledge in a collaborative environment. You will have 24-hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical Library, and the ability to teach our college and university student placements.

Status: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Shift: Overnight Shift: 23:00 PM - 07:00 AM
