Interior Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Medical Laboratory Department at Lytton Health Services in Lytton, BC. The role involves collecting blood and specimens, preparing samples for analysis, performing routine tests, and managing LIS data, with related clerical duties.

This is a permanent part-time position (0.50) with day shifts Monday to Friday and weekends/stats off, located in the scenic community of Lytton.

Qualifications

• Grade 12, plus completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program.
• Ability to type 25 WPM with a timed test within 48 months.

Responsibilities

• Take blood and specimen samples from patients.
• Prepare blood and other specimens for analysis.
• Perform routine lab tests.
• Distribute specimens to departments and outside labs.
• Operate related equipment and enter data into LIS.
• Perform related clerical duties.
