Job summary

BayCare Health System in Largo, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN dedicated to outstanding patient service and clinical excellence. The role focuses on assisting providers, managing histories, labs, and EMR documentation, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months or proof of active license/certification.
• EMT or NREMT or Paramedic or LPN required.
• High School or equivalent required.
• Prefer 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
• Externship in Medical Assistant is valuable and should be documented.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatment.
• Handles patient histories, routine labs, and specimen prep for transport.
• Follows up on test orders and communicates results to provider and patient.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment.
• Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
• Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
• Complies with all OSHA and CLIA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 6 months of hire date or proof of active license/certification.
• Or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician)
• Or Paramedic
• Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
• Required High School or Equivalent
