Job summary

Stingray is seeking a Media Sales Strategist to join the Sydney team and cover Cape Breton Regional Municipality. You will lead local radio advertising efforts for Hot 101.9 and New Country 103.5/Sydney, while representing Stingray across a nationwide network.

You will manage the full sales cycle, develop strategic proposals, and drive revenue growth through consultative selling and cross-platform campaigns with support from internal teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of in-person, consultative sales or account management experience.

As a valued team members prepares for retirement, we are currently looking for a Media Sales Strategist to join our Sydney team and cover the Cape Breton Regional Municipality! This position reports to the Retail Sales Manager for Hot 101.9 and New Country 103.5/Sydney.

Located on beautiful Cape Breton Island, Sydney serves as the gateway to the Cabot Trail, the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and several other cultural attractions. With a diversified economy, it’s the largest urban centre on the island with a population of approximately 100,000 and serves as its healthcare, educational, and transportation hub.

• Be a local sales leader of the Hot 101.9 and New Country 103.5, Stingray-owned radio stations. You will have the opportunity to harness the power of these popular stations while also representing all Stingray Radio Stations from Vancouver to St. John’s, unlocking vast sales potential across a nationwide network.
• Leverage a diverse range of media solutions including radio, programmatic display, programmatic video, connected TV, digital out-of-home, YouTube, search, social, and our proprietary retail media platform – to help clients grow and succeed.
• Own the full sales process from lead generation and prospecting to client needs analysis, solution presentation, negotiation, and closing.
• Drive revenue growth and achieve revenue targets through consultative sales and development of strategic proposals. Manage and grow your client base while identifying new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams (promotions, programming, creative, production, digital campaign managers) to deliver impactful, multi-platform advertising campaigns.
• Help handle the administrative responsibilities of the Sydney Sales Department, including building client/station proposals; coordinating the remote booking process/wrap-up reports (for both local and national opportunities); and representing the stations at client and community partner events.
• You have 2+ years of in-person, consultative sales or account management experience (experience in multi-media advertising or digital media is a plus).
• Ability to self-manage, proven high-achieving performer in all facets of life with a track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• You are comfortable building ground-up ideas and presenting your strategies to business owners and operators.
• You are an excellent communicator, presenter, and negotiator with a history of building strong, lasting, business relationships.
• You are well-organized, accountable, and skilled at managing time and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a team-focused mindset.
• You live in or would relocate to Sydney, NS; have a valid driver’s license; access to a vehicle; and valid vehicle insurance.
