Job summary

CoolIT Systems in Calgary, Alberta seeks a Mechanical Sustaining Engineer to support CDU products throughout their lifecycle. The role emphasizes reliability, manufacturability, and continuous improvement across manufacturing, quality, procurement and service teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering, problem solving and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product performance and cost targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree.
• 3-7 years of mechanical engineering experience in product development, sustaining or manufacturing roles.
• Experience creating and implementing engineering changes (ECRs/ECNs).
• Experience conducting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support released CDU products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring continued performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Investigate product, manufacturing, supplier, and field issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Create and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Provide day to day engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams.
• Identify and qualify alternate components to address obsolescence and cost reduction.
