Job summary

CoolIT Systems Inc. is seeking a Manager, CDU Sustaining Engineering to lead the CDU Sustaining team.

You will own the technical execution of sustaining activities from PVT to EOL, including customer-driven improvements, cost reductions, ECO management, quality improvements, and field issue resolution. You will build and lead a multidisciplinary team delivering robust, reliable, and scalable liquid cooling products for hyperscale data centers and HPC systems, collaborating with manufacturing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years in product development or sustaining engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
• Experience supporting products through production and field deployment.
• Experience with configuration management and engineering change control processes.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid systems, and thermal management & sensing technologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, reliability engineering, and PLM.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the sustaining mechanical engineering of Coolant Distribution Units and ensure design changes meet product development processes.
• Provide technical guidance in thermal analysis, heat transfer simulations, stress analysis, root cause investigations, and materials selection for liquid-cooled solutions.
• Manage workload, prioritize tasks, delegate, and develop team members for career growth.
• Establish change priorities based on business impact, quality risk, and manufacturing needs.
• Coach and guide team members to build future leaders and technical expertise.
• Drive a culture of technical excellence, autonomy, and accountability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Role:

We are seeking a Manager, CDU Sustaining Engineering to lead our CDU (Coolant Distribution Unit), Sustaining team, responsible for supporting and continuously improving our CDU product portfolio in production and in the field, serving hyperscale data centers and high-performance computing system. This position owns the technical execution of sustaining engineering activities from Production Validation Test (PVT) through End-of-Life (EOL), including customer-driven improvements, cost reductions, engineering change management, quality improvements, component approval, second sourcing initiatives, compliance support, manufacturability improvements, and field issue resolution. The successful candidate will build and lead a multidisciplinary team that delivers robust, reliable, and scalable liquid cooling products while supporting manufacturing, supply chain, quality, service, and hyperscale customers.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee the sustaining mechanical engineering of our Coolant Distribution Units, ensuring design changes meet product development processes and project schedules.
• Provide technical guidance to the team in performing thermal analysis, heat transfer simulations, stress analysis, root cause investigations, and materials selection for liquid-cooled solutions.
• Manage the team's workload, prioritize tasks, and delegate effectively, while also focusing on building the team's technical knowledge, supporting career growth, and managing performance.
• Establish change priorities based on business impact, quality risk, customer commitments, and manufacturing needs.
• Coach, train, and guide team members to strengthen technical expertise, support career growth, and build future leaders within the organization.
• Drive a culture of technical excellence, innovation, autonomy, and accountability.
• Create and manage plans for department budgets, the growth of the team, and project execution roadmaps.
• Drive cost reduction and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
• Partner effectively with Operations & Strategic Sourcing to align engineering deliverables with production requirements and timelines.
• Collaborate and build strong working relationships with key industry partners and critical component vendors to promote a culture of continuous improvement and the adoption of best-in-class technology.
• Participate in internal company-wide efforts with other departments focused on continuous improvement, process development, and the adoption of advanced technology.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering disciplines.
• Minimum of 7 years of product development or sustaining engineering experience.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
• Experience supporting products through production and field deployment.
• Experience with configuration management and engineering change control processes.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid systems, and thermal management & sensing technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, reliability engineering, and product lifecycle management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience with high-volume production for industrial products.
• Possess P.Eng designation or similar professional credentials.
