Job summary

CoolIT Systems is seeking a Sustaining Manager to lead the CDU Sustaining Engineering team. You will drive ongoing improvements for coolant distribution units in production and field deployments, coordinating with operations, sourcing, and quality to ensure reliability and scalable design.

The role requires 7+ years in product development or sustaining engineering with at least 3 years in leadership, strong mechanical/thermal expertise, and a track record of cost reductions and process

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product development or sustaining engineering experience.

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid systems, and thermal management & sensing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the sustaining mechanical engineering of Coolant Distribution Units, ensuring design changes meet product development processes and project schedules.
• Provide technical guidance in thermal analysis, heat transfer simulations, stress analysis, root cause investigations, and materials selection for liquid-cooled solutions.
• Manage the team's workload, prioritize tasks, and delegate effectively, while supporting career growth and performance.
• Establish change priorities based on business impact, quality risk, customer commitments, and manufacturing needs.
• Coach, train, and guide team members to strengthen technical expertise and build future leaders.
• Drive a culture of technical excellence, innovation, autonomy, and accountability.
• Create and manage plans for department budgets, growth of the team, and project execution roadmaps.
• Drive cost reduction and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Role:

We are seeking a Manager, CDU Sustaining Engineering to lead our CDU (Coolant Distribution Unit), Sustaining team, responsible for supporting and continuously improving our CDU product portfolio in production and in the field, serving hyperscale data centers and high-performance computing system.

This position owns the technical execution of sustaining engineering activities from Production Validation Test (PVT) through End-of-Life (EOL), including customer-driven improvements, cost reductions, engineering change management, quality improvements, component approval, second sourcing initiatives, compliance support, manufacturability improvements, and field issue resolution.

The successful candidate will build and lead a multidisciplinary team that delivers robust, reliable, and scalable liquid cooling products while supporting manufacturing, supply chain, quality, service, and hyperscale customers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering disciplines.
• Minimum of 7 years of product development or sustaining engineering experience.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
• Experience supporting products through production and field deployment.
• Experience with configuration management and engineering change control processes.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid systems, and thermal management & sensing technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, reliability engineering, and product lifecycle management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with high-volume production for industrial products.
• Possess P.Eng designation or similar professional credentials.
