We are looking for a passionate individual to join us as a Mechanical & Structural Designer. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of the mining industry through innovative product design and development.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Design and Analysis: Design, analyze, and test structural and mechanical components using SolidWorks CAD system.
• Technical Support: Provide essential support during the equipment assembly phase to ensure precision and functionality.
• Shop Drawing Packages: Create detailed shop drawing packages including SRF and General Assembly drawings.
• Engineering Change Notices: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address engineering change notices and non-conformance reports.
• Proposal Drawings: Prepare accurate proposal drawings and cost estimates to support sales activities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Powertrain, Hydraulic, and Electrical Engineers to optimize design solutions.
• On-site Support: Offer on-site support by visiting customer locations.
• Spare Parts Lists: Recommend and compile spare parts lists.
• Functional Tests: Conduct thorough functional tests in collaboration with production and quality teams.
• Problem-solving: Utilize problem-solving skills to investigate, calculate, and test solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Hold a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Bring 3+ years of experience in designing underground hard rock equipment.
• Possess knowledge and experience in weldment design and stress analysis.
• Show proficiency in 3D CAD design, particularly using SolidWorks.
• Exhibit familiarity with Microsoft Office software and project management methodologies.
• Understand Bill of Materials and MRP systems.
• Demonstrate a detail-oriented mindset.
• Showcase strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Possess knowledge of fluid mechanics and electrics.
