Job summary

Kelly is seeking a Mechanical Frontline Supervisor for a 12-month on-site contract in Lloydminster, AB. The role offers a 4% vacation pay on top of a $65–$75 hourly rate and a schedule of 10-hour shifts, 4 days on / 3 off.

The candidate will lead mechanical construction activities across the project lifecycle, emphasizing safety, quality, and execution excellence in a brownfield environment.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Journeyman certification in a mechanical trade.
  • Experience in mechanical construction and field coordination.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality processes and project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-execution reviews and contractor readiness activities.
  • Monitor daily field work, contractor performance and safety reviews.
  • Provide progress updates and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor crews on safe work practices and ensure compliance with life-saving rules.

Schedule: 4 Days On / 3 Days Off | 10-Hour Shifts

We're currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Frontline Supervisor to join a high-profile project team supporting construction and project execution activities in Lloydminster. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on field leader with strong mechanical construction experience who thrives in fast-paced project environments and is passionate about safety, quality, and execution excellence.

As a key member of the project team, you'll support all phases of the construction lifecycle, from pre-mobilization planning and contractor reviews through execution, completion, and closeout activities.

What You'll Be Doing
Pre-Execution
  • Lead contractor pre-documentation reviews and joint acceptance processes
  • Review and support JSA's, ERP's, execution plans, ITPs, and project readiness activities
  • Participate in planning, design reviews, model reviews, and Construction Work Package (CWP) development
Construction Execution
  • Monitor daily construction activities and contractor performance
  • Conduct field inspections, hazard assessments, and safety reviews
  • Identify project risks, variances, scope changes, and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure contractor compliance with project procedures and documentation
  • Support safe and efficient project execution in a brownfield operating environment
Safety & Quality Leadership
  • Champion a strong safety culture and Cenovus safety initiatives
  • Participate in risk assessments, audits, walkdowns, and quality inspections
  • Mentor crews and contractors on safe work practices
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, specifications, and lifesaving rules
Project Controls & Coordination
  • Support construction planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Review contractor labor, equipment utilization, and daily reporting
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory, Completions, and other stakeholders
  • Provide daily updates on project progress, risks, and look-ahead activities
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Red Seal Journeyman certification in a Mechanical trade:
  • Pipefitter / Steamfitter
  • Millwright
  • Welder
  • Boilermaker
  • Experience as a:
  • Mechanical Field Coordinator
  • Mechanical Supervisor
  • Construction Supervisor
  • Mechanical Project Lead
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Mechanical construction and project execution
  • Brownfield project environments
  • Contractor management and field coordination
  • Construction safety and quality processes
Nice to Have
  • PMP certification
  • Formal Project Management or Project Planning training
  • Experience supporting large industrial or energy sector projects
