Job summary

Raise is seeking a Frontline Supervisor in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan to support the Project team through pre-mobilization activities, bid package preparation, and contractor coordination. Responsibilities

  • Lead team reviews and facilitate joint acceptance of contractor project pre-documentation (e.g., JSA, ERP, execution plans, ITPs).

Description

The Frontline Supervisor in this role will support the Project team. The successful candidate will be involved in pre-mobilization activities and pre-bid documentation, including participation in bid package preparation and contractor bid reviews. You will also contribute to project execution planning, such as design reviews, model reviews, and Construction Work Package (CWP) development and all aspects of the construction execution project life cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Pre-Execution
  • Lead team reviews and facilitate joint acceptance of contractor project pre-documentation (e.g., JSA, ERP, execution plans, ITPs).
  • Execution
  • Communicate all existing and potential site hazards to contractors and ensure hazards are documented in Safe Work Agreements.
  • Verify contractor compliance with project documentation and provide documented assessments.
  • Identify and communicate variances, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Identify high-risk work and scope changes requiring formal risk assessments, using the Risk Matrix.
  • Monitor daily progress of construction.
  • Complete daily field checks on ongoing construction activities including field level hazard assessment reviews & improvement opportunities.
  • Post-Execution
  • Participate in contractor close-out and lessons learned sessions.
  • Participate in contractor completion activities, including walkdowns, deficiency resolution, and demobilization.
  • Technical & Field Leadership
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, principles, and procedures.
  • Experience with mechanical project installations in a brown field environment
  • Health, Safety & Quality
  • Support and implement safety initiatives and Safety Management Systems.
  • Conduct field hazard assessments and participate in project risk assessments.
  • Wear required PPE and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Mentor and support team members in safe work practices.
  • Participate in quality activities, including ITP reviews, turnover package verification, audits, and walkdowns.
  • Ensure adherence to specifications, lifesaving rules and commitments
  • Participate in and develop safety meetings as required
  • Project Controls & Execution
  • Support development and management of project construction plans & schedules.
  • Understand contractor/vendor schedules and their integration into overall project timelines.
  • Verify contractor progress and communicate risks and findings.
  • Collaborate on schedule recovery plans when required.
  • Review and validate daily contractor/vendor labor, equipment, and reporting (hours, personnel, equipment—not rates).
  • Monitor actuals vs. forecasts and identify variances and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Identify and manage risks across safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Coordinate work with internal stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, Completions, Regulatory, etc.).
  • Provide daily reporting on progress, risks, and look-ahead activities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with contractors and project team members.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with peers and functional teams.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, coordination meetings, and communication sessions.
  • Maintain a detailed daily log of key activities and discussions.
Qualifications
  • Hands-on background working as a Mechanical Field Coordinator or Supervisor in active brownfield environments, bringing a strong working knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, principles, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to drive pre-mobilization activities by participating in contractor bid package preparation, bid reviews, constructability reviews, and joint acceptance of contractor pre-documentation (such as JSAs, ERPs, execution plans, and ITPs).
  • Demonstrated involvement in project execution planning, including design/model reviews, CWP development, and managing all operational aspects across the construction execution lifecycle.
  • Active leadership in safety management systems, including conducting daily field hazard assessments, enforcing lifesaving rules and Safe Work Agreements, and identifying high-risk work and scope changes using the Risk Matrix.
  • Accountability for verifying contractor compliance through documented field assessments, tracking daily construction progress, and reviewing contractor/vendor labor, equipment, and progress reports against schedules.
  • Direct participation in quality control deliverables, including Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) reviews, system walkdowns, deficiency resolution, turnover package verification, and contractor close-out and lessons-learned sessions.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Red Seal Journeyman in a Mechanical trade (pipefitter/steam fitter, welder, boilermaker, millwright)
  • PMP or formal project management or project planning training is considered an asset
Additional Information
  • Schedule: 4 days on 3 days off. 10 hour days.Pre-approval from lead required in advance of any additional time worked.
