Job summary

AECOM Buildings + Places in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to design and deliver building systems for light industrial facilities, with emphasis on water and wastewater projects. Hybrid work is available with some travel to project sites.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams from planning through commissioning, performing mechanical design, field reviews, and client interactions to ensure code compliance and design intent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and four or more years designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial, institutional, or light industrial facilities.
• Professional Engineer in British Columbia or eligible for licensure.
• Equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical system design for buildings, including HVAC and plumbing.
• Conduct regular site inspections and field reviews for quality, schedule, and code compliance.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and clients throughout project phases.
• Lead on-site as mechanical discipline lead during construction and support commissioning.
• Design equipment schedules, duct/pipe sizing, and liaise with vendors.
