Hatch Ltd. in Mississauga is offering a Spring 2027 Mechanical Engineering Student co-op in our Technologies Group. The 16-month internship provides hands-on experience on complex projects and collaboration with diverse teams worldwide.

You will apply mechanical design knowledge, perform finite element analysis, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and gain exposure to copper coolers, electrode columns, and furnace equipment. Transcript submission is required.

• Must be 3rd or 4th year in Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited university
• Demonstrate strong academic performance

Responsibilities

• Directly apply and develop knowledge in mechanical design
• Perform finite element analysis on various furnace components and systems, including thermal analysis of cooling system elements
• Co-ordinate designs with a multi-disciplinary team including structural, mechanical, electrical, process, and instrumentation and controls
• Contribute to the design and improvement of various types of mechanical equipment and technologies, including copper coolers, electrode columns and furnace sealing equipment
• Perform calculations for a variety of mechanical systems including machinery components, hydraulic systems, and cooling water systems
• Become familiar in reviewing fabrication and construction drawings; and
• Improve technical communication and report writing skills

Compensation:

Range: $25.00 - $33.00
