Job summary

CURA's Mechanical Engineer owns the hardware turning our electrochemistry into real, scalable hardware. You will design electrolyzer stacks, fixtures, tooling, and test rigs, translating cell requirements into manufacturable parts that seal, compress, and flow reliably.

Working at the lab-to-factory interface, you’ll help scale our technology toward a 30,000-tonne-per-year demonstration, collaborating with electrochemists and the machine shop to iterate quickly, improve manufacturability, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Three or more years of mechanical design experience from concept through prototype to fabrication.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD with assemblies, drawings, and BOMs.
• GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and DFM principles.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components for electrolyzer stacks including flow plates, end plates, manifolds, and seals.
• Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for prototype fabrication.
• Translate electrochemical and system requirements into manufacturable designs.
• Perform mechanical design analyses for reliability and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with technicians and external partners to support fabrication and testing.
• Design fixtures, tooling, and test hardware for lab and pilot-scale validation.
• Review builds and test results to implement design improvements.
• Maintain documentation and design records throughout development.
• Contribute to troubleshooting and continuous improvement of electrolyzer systems.
