Job summary

CURA, a Canadian climate tech company, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the hardware behind our electrochemical process turning limestone into lime and CO2. You will design stacks, fixtures, and test rigs, coordinating with electrochemists and machine shop staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent hands-on design experience.
  • Three+ years of mechanical design experience from concept to fabrication.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and assemblies, drawings, and BOMs.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrolyzer stacks, flow plates, end plates, manifolds, and compression systems.
  • Create detailed CAD models, drawings, assemblies, and BOMs for prototyping and testing.
  • Translate requirements into practical mechanical designs focused on performance and manufacturability.
  • Perform tolerance, sealing, compression, materials, and DFM analyses for reliable designs.
  • Collaborate with technicians and external partners for fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Develop fixtures, tooling, and test hardware for lab experiments and pilot runs.
  • Maintain documentation and standards across the product development process.
  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of electrolyzer systems.
