Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites qualified engineers to join a hybrid workplace in Canada, with in-office presence required three days per week. You will develop cost estimates, interface with clients at locations, and lead engineering project teams on nuclear plant modification projects.

The role emphasizes engineering rigor, safety standards, and the ability to present status updates and perform design tasks using modern tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a CAN-ABET or ACCREDITED program with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer coursework.
  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience or a MS degree.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations in mechanical engineering design for nuclear plants.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants and develop functional drawings for plant systems.
  • Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment and vendor bid evaluations.

Description
  • Modification packages for operating nuclear power plants
  • Functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems
  • Engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems
  • Technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
  • Vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment
  • Studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants
In Addition, You Will Have The Opportunity To
  • Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid‑sized client‑requested work scopes
  • Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status
  • Lead engineering project teams

This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in‑office work 3 days per week, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.

Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board‑accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET‑accredited program with academic coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
  • A minimum of 1 year of engineering experience or a MS degree
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation Range

$56,236 - $80,862
