Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and tooling projects for nuclear facilities. You will design tooling, prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and test documentation, and support field deployments.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical design, experience with CAD (SolidWorks/Solid Edge), and eligibility for a P.Eng. in Ontario. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and adhere to ASME, CSA, and nuclear industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design, tooling, or nuclear-related projects.
• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Eligible to become a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
• Knowledge of ASME, CSA, and nuclear standards is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and engineering for nuclear tooling, field services equipment, inspection systems, and refurbishment tooling.
• Develop design documentation including design requirements, specifications, calculations, drawings, work instructions, test plans, and technical reports.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and deployment of tooling and equipment.
• Participate in design reviews, technical evaluations, and verification activities to ensure compliance with project, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide engineering support for non-conformances, field issues, outage execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and site teams to deliver project requirements.
• Support domestic and international site assignments as required.
• Work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, nuclear quality requirements, and company procedures.
• Provide guidance to designers, drafters, technicians, and junior engineers.
