Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian University, or equivalent is required. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario is required.
Substantial knowledge of pertinent codes and standards (O.B.C., CSA Standards, ASHRAE etc.). Experience in the design of mechanical systems commonly used in multi-unit residential buildings, or similar, is required. Experience in private sector works, specifically working with private sector developers is considered an asset. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD suites. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective team builder with demonstrated abilities to motivate all levels of staff. Commitment to ongoing professional and personal growth; willingness to learn. Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization. Capable of working on and/or leading several projects at the same time and with the projects in different stages. Ability to mentor and train staff in a team environment.
This is a full-time, in-office position. At SBM, we prioritize a positive work culture, believing that strong relationships with our employees lead to exceptional customer service and outstanding results for our clients. Enjoy a balanced 40-hour workweek of 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday and an early finish at 2:30pm on Fridays.
