Job summary

Arrow Off Road Stratford is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a six-month contract to develop 3D models and fabrication drawings for large welded assemblies. You will design tooling, weld fixtures, and material handling solutions, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations in a heavy manufacturing setting.

The role requires SolidWorks expertise, weld fabrication knowledge, and a strong grasp of design for manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (CAD/design preferred).
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of related manufacturing design experience or 2–5 years in heavy fabrication environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and fabrication drawings for large welded assemblies.
• Create production-ready drawings with weld symbols, tolerances, GD&T, and BOMs.
• Design fixtures, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability, weld accessibility, and material utilization.
• Support on shop floor validation, fixture prove-outs, and continuous improvement.
