Job summary

Arrow Machine and Fabrication Group in Stratford, Ontario is seeking a Mechanical Designer to create 3D models and fabrication drawings for large welded assemblies, develop tooling and fixtures, and produce production-ready drawings and BOMs for internal and external tooling.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality and operations, applying welding, forming and machining knowledge to deliver cost-effective solutions and ensure manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, DraftSight).
• Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to produce production-ready drawings, BOMs, and tooling concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings for large welded assemblies.
• Create weld symbols, dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, and material specs.
• Design tooling and fixtures, locating and clamping systems, and other production tooling.
• Review designs for manufacturability and assembly sequence.
• Prepare BOMs and manufacturing drawings for internal/external tooling.
