Job summary

Averna in Montreal is seeking a Mechanical Designer to coordinate the mechanical aspects of development for specialized tools, working with cross-disciplinary teams. You will produce 3D models and fabrication drawings, create BOMs, run simulations, and ensure designs meet strength, thermal, manufacturability and testability requirements while supporting hardware and software integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical/automated design.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks 3D.
• Experience with SolidWorks Simulation and SolidWorks Electrical is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the mechanical design aspects of development for specialized tools.
• Prepare detailed specifications, simulations, calculations and test models.
• Produce 3D models, fabrication drawings and BOMs.
• Consider strength, thermal dissipation, manufacturability, maintainability and testability.
• Build and test prototypes when needed and support HW/SW integration.
• Apply development processes across projects.
