Job summary

Averna Powered by Spherea in Montreal is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join a multinational high-tech team. You will translate mechanical requirements into detailed 3D models, drawings and BOMs, and support hardware/software integration.

You bring a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering and 2–5 years of design experience with SolidWorks, including simulations. The role offers growth in a dynamic product development environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in designing mechanical/automated applications.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks 3D.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed specifications for mechanical assemblies with simulations and tests.
• Produce 3D models, fabrication and assembly drawings, and BOMs.
• Consider materials strength, thermal dissipation, manufacturability and testability.
• Build and test prototypes when needed and support qualification tests.
• Assist integration of hardware and software and apply development processes.

Job Description

The Mechanical Designer challenge in a few words

• Following up with internal technical leaders, managers and other disciplines designers;
• Manage suppliers on requirements and validation.

Your contribution in this role

• Prepare the detailed specifications of the design of mechanical assemblies, describe and justify the technical choices through simulations, calculations and test models;
• Produce 3D models, fabrication and assembly drawings as well as corresponding BOMs;
• Take into account constraints such as strength of materials, thermal dissipation, manufacturability, maintainability and testability;
• Build and test prototypes when needed;
• Support qualification tests;
• Support the integration of hardware and software;
• Apply development processes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate in a few words

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Technical Experience

• 2 to 5 years of experience in the design of mechanical and/or automated applications.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks 3D.

Assets

• Experience with simulation using SolidWorks Simulation.
• Experience designing systems related to analog and/or digital electronics.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks Electrical.
