Job summary

AME Consulting Group in Calgary is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our office. You will work in a collaborative team on mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction, applying your technical knowledge and strong communication skills.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of mechanical design experience, knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and building systems, and a proactive approach. We offer flexible work options, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of technical mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) experience.
• P.Eng designation preferred but not mandatory.
• Sustainable design certification (LEED, Passive House) or equivalent experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
• System design calculations and equipment selections.
• Preparation of contract drawings and documentation.
• Project coordination with team designers and external design professionals.

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our Calgary office. In this role, you will be working in a collaborative team on mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction. You should be an experienced designer with an excellent track record and considerable technical knowledge. Creative thinking and a proactive attitude, along with strong communication, organizational and report writing skills, are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
• System design calculations and equipment selections.

Key Skills

• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP and Microsoft Office.
• Up-to-date knowledge of technical developments, building codes and standards.
• Clear and concise communication, both orally and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team.
