Mechanical Designer – Healthcare

Organizations: AME Group

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Base pay range

CA$66,000.00/yr – CA$85,000.00/yr

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with healthcare experience to join our team in Calgary. In this role, you will contribute to a wide range of mechanical design projects, from schematic design through to construction, within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and creative thinker with a strong interest in advancing their career in the healthcare sector. Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
  • System design calculations and equipment selections.
  • Preparation of contract drawings and documentation.
  • Project coordination with team designers and external design professionals.
  • Comply with AME Quality management standards and processes.
Key Skills
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technical developments, building codes and standards.
  • Clear and concise communication, both orally and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team.
Qualifications and Experience
  • P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the industry with some healthcare experience.
