They are hiring for a talented Mechanical Designer (Buildings Engineering), specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. This firm is well established, with a strong portfolio across various sectors. THE ROLE
As an intermediate to senior Mechanical Designer, you will be involved in designing and developing mechanical systems for commercial, residential, public, and institutional building projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HVAC systems, proficiency in Revit, and experience with other design software.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work with senior engineers to create mechanical designs for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
2. Prepare and review detailed designs, drawings, and specifications using Revit and other tools.
3. Perform site visits to assess project requirements, verify installations, and ensure quality control.
4. Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
5. Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment selection to meet project and code requirements.
6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
7. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical design within the building industry.
3. Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and sustainable design practices.
4. Experience designing mechanical systems for various project types is preferred.
5. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is preferred.
6. Ability to travel to sites within Alberta 1-2 times per week.
7. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
