Position Details

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Salary: $70k - 85k

Type: Consulting Engineering Firm, Hybrid/Remote with site visits

Role Summary

As an intermediate to senior Mechanical Designer, you will develop mechanical systems for commercial, residential, public, and institutional projects. A strong background in HVAC and proficiency in Revit are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to create designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Prepare and review detailed drawings and specifications using Revit and other tools.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and ensure quality control.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment selection.
• Mentor junior designers and manage multiple projects efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in mechanical design for buildings.
• Knowledge of building codes and sustainable design practices.
• Experience with a range of mechanical systems and proficiency in Revit.
• PE or eligibility preferred.
• Ability to travel within Alberta 1-2 times per week.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
