Job summary

Eclipse Automation in Cambridge, ON is seeking a Mechanical Design Co-op to support the design team. The role involves CAD/SolidWorks work, engineering calculations, and ensuring designs meet safety and customer standards.

You will collaborate with the Mechanical Design Lead and cross-functional teams, contribute documentation, and help meet project milestones while gaining experience in automated manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering degree or diploma
• Specializing in robotics & automation, mechanical, systems or mechatronics
• Co-op/work term required

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations on strength of materials, speeds, temperature, and forces
• Analyze drawings and specs to determine shapes, dimensions and materials
• Produce working drawings and bills of materials using Auto CAD and SolidWorks
• Ensure designs meet applicable standards (OSHA, CE, customer specs)
• Collaborate with vendors for technical information
• Communicate design changes to the Applications Manager
• Contribute documentation and meet milestones
