Eclipse Automation Inc. in Cambridge, ON is seeking a Mechanical Design Co-op to support the design team on mechanical projects. The role is on-site and part-time as a co-op term, reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and collaborating with the Design teams.

Responsibilities include performing engineering calculations, preparing drawings and BOMs, and ensuring compliance with standards while supporting project milestones and documentation across the Eclipse organization.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to establish priorities and work without supervision.
• Hands-on understanding of robotics, control systems and machine operation (desirable).

Responsabilités

• Perform engineering calculations related to strength of materials, speeds and forces for machine and tool designs.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to determine shape, dimensions and materials.
• Produce working drawings and BOMs for equipment using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Ensure designs comply with OSHA, CE or customer standards.
• Communicate design changes to the Applications Manager and coordinate with vendors.
• Contribute accurate documentation and meet project milestones.
