BPA in Toronto is seeking a Mechanical Associate (Project Engineer) to join the Tenant Fit-Out team. You will design HVAC and plumbing systems, coordinate with architectural firms, and deliver creative engineering solutions for modern office environments.

You will lead projects, supervise technical work, and contribute to proposals while mentoring junior staff. The role emphasizes client relationships, code compliance, and high-quality execution in Canada's vibrant commercial market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is mandatory.
• At least 7 years in a consulting firm with building projects.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships on complex projects.
• Solid knowledge of Canadian building codes, construction practices, and permitting.
• Member in good standing of PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.
• Ability to mentor junior resources.

Responsabilités

• Lead the project team and coordinate stakeholders for Tenant Interiors Fit-up projects in Toronto.
• Provide technical supervision, coordination, verification and design of mechanical building systems.
• Ensure client satisfaction throughout projects.
• Survey existing installations.
• Analyze, design and adapt building-related installations.
• Collaborate with business development on proposals.
• Interdisciplinary coordination with external professionals.
• Assess construction cost budgets, set fees and schedules. Monitor project with accounting.
• Write specifications and technical reports.
• Provide assistance regarding site supervision.

Your daily impact

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a consulting firm with building projects.
• Proven experience building and maintaining strong, professional client relationships on complex building projects
• Solid knowledge of Canadian building codes, construction practices, and permitting processes.
• Member in good standing of PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
• Ability to mentor junior resources.
