Job summary

Thermon is seeking an Applications Specialist/Engineer in Oakville, Ontario to support RFQ triage, sizing, costing, and proposal generation for engineered process heating equipment. The ideal candidate holds a mechanical engineering degree and is ready to train quickly in a dynamic environment.

Key duties include reviewing RFQ specifications, developing conceptual designs, preparing cost estimates, and presenting to clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years in industrial process industries (oil, gas, petrochemical, or power generation) preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASME BPVC and electrical product certifications (UL, CSA, IEC) a plus; SELO/KOSHA/KGS/TR CU are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Review specifications and documents from RFQs for engineered systems involving electric heating and process systems.
  • Develop conceptual designs of engineered products and systems for RFQs.
  • Develop cost estimates and prepare proposals based on conceptual designs for RFQs.
  • Evaluate processes and designs for proposed modifications and improvements as required by clients or internal departments.
  • Meetings with clients for technical clarifications and presentations pertaining to RFQs and current projects.
  • Interface with Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations to conceptualize designs and set realistic delivery expectations when preparing proposals.
