Job summary

Services Routiers Unipro Ltée in Dorval, Canada seeks an experienced mechanic to maintain a fleet of over 90 units, including heavy trucks, towing equipment, and specialized trailers. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and ensure safety standards under the supervision of the workshop foreman.

The role requires strong mechanical/electronic diagnostic skills, knowledge of hydraulics, and a valid license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy truck mechanics.
• Proficiency in mechanical and electronic diagnostics.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and specialized equipment is an asset.
• Vocational diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license (Class 1 an asset).

Responsibilities

Mechanic – Heavy Vehicles and Specialized Trailers

We're looking for an experienced mechanic with rigorous diagnostic skills to join our dynamic team at our Dorval workshop. Under the supervision of our workshop foreman. You'll participate in the maintenance and repair of our fleet of more than 90 units, including heavy trucks, towing equipment, and various types of specialized trailers (flatbed, tractor-trailer, landoll, etc.).

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform inspection, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs on:
  • Heavy trucks (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, etc.)
  • Towing equipment (hydraulic systems, winches, tow arms, etc.)
  • Specialized trailers (axles, braking systems, chassis, hydraulic systems, and winches)
• Diagnose mechanical failures and propose effective solutions
• Use electronic diagnostic tools to detect complex faults
• Track repairs and maintenance using our mechanical workshop management software (MIR).
• Work in collaboration with the foreman and other members of the mechanical team.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment that complies with health and safety standards.

Requirements

• Significant experience in heavy truck mechanics (minimum 3 years)
• Proficiency in mechanical and electronic diagnostics
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, winches, and specialized equipment (major asset)
• Vocational diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics or equivalent training (an asset)
• Valid driver's license (Class 1 an asset)
