Job summary

City of Laval is seeking a Mechanic for Vehicles and Equipment for its Public Works Service. The position is temporary and based at G.V.E Operations, Laval.

You will perform mechanical repairs on motorized vehicles and equipment, often dealing with electrical and hydraulic systems during evening shifts. Candidates need a DEP, a PEP card, and an environmental certificate, plus a valid Qc license and two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a DEP in heavy vehicles, construction machinery, or automotive mechanics recognized by the MEQ.
• Hold a PEP card (Preventive Maintenance) issued by the SAAQ.
• Possess an environmental qualification certificate, category H3 - vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on motorized equipment.

SCHEDULE: EVENING

The challenges that await you

Perform various mechanical repair work on all types of motorized vehicles, equipment, and devices.

The ideal profile for us

• Hold a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in heavy vehicles, construction machinery, or automotive mechanics (with relevant experience on heavy vehicles), recognized by the Ministry of Education of Quebec);
• Hold a PEP card (Preventive Maintenance Program) issued by the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec);
• Possess an environmental qualification certificate, category H3 - vehicles;
• Aptitude to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and to perform repairs on all types of motorized equipment;
• Hold a class 5 driver's license in accordance with the requirements of the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec;
• Have two (2) years of relevant experience.
