Job summary

Nasittuq Corporation seeks Red Seal qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanics for CFS Alert, Nunavut. The role offers a fly-in/fly-out rotation (8 weeks on, 8 off) with full accommodations, meals, and per diem support.

You’ll perform heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and safety-compliant repairs in one of the world’s most northern environments. Ideal candidates hold Red Seal, MV 310S/310T endorsements, DND 404 permit eligibility, and a valid passport, with at least 5 years of heavy-vehicle

Qualifications

• Red Seal-qualified mechanic with Canada-wide trade credentials.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy vehicles and related equipment at CFS Alert.
• Conduct diagnostic testing and routine service.
• Adhere to safety protocols in extreme Arctic conditions.

What You’ll Need

• Red Seal qualification in Canada as a mechanic or automotive service technician
• Qualified with Motor Vehicle Mechanics 310S (up to 9000kg) and 310T with diesel endorsement
• Trained in driving with an attached trailer and safe backing
• Eligible for a valid DND 404 Driver Permit
• Government of Canada Reliability security clearance
• Valid Canadian passport
• Pass a medical examination
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and related equipment
