Job summary

Liftow, North America's largest Toyota forklift dealership, seeks experienced mechanics to provide field service at customer sites across Nova Scotia. You will diagnose and repair equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and plan travel efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role offers independent work with a supportive team, in a variety of environments including warehouses and manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as forklift/heavy equipment/truck/road vehicle mechanic
• Independence, resourcefulness and strong organization
• Ability to manage schedules and prioritize service calls

Responsibilities

A Role for Independent and Organized Professionals

At Liftow, you'll manage your work with a high degree of autonomy. As a Road Service Technician, you will efficiently plan your travel, organize customer appointments, and ensure professional follow-up on service calls.

What You'll Do

• Visit customers throughout your assigned territory to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Efficiently organize your workweek and travel schedule based on customer needs and priorities.
• Represent Liftow professionally and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Ensure equipment is returned to service quickly and safely.

Your Technical Expertise

You will work on a variety of equipment, including:

• Electric and internal combustion forklifts
• Electric tractors/tuggers
• Tow and transport vehicles
• Other material handling equipment

You will be responsible for:

• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues.
• Using specialized diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and wiring schematics.
• Performing high-quality repairs while adhering to safety standards.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We would like to meet individuals who:

• Have 3 to 5 years of experience as a forklift mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, truck mechanic, automotive technician, or road vehicle mechanic.
• Are known for their independence, resourcefulness, and organizational skills.
• Enjoy managing their schedule and effectively prioritizing service calls.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Deliver professional and courteous customer service.
• Communicate clearly with customers and team members.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to responsibility and safety.
• Hold a valid driver's license.

Experience with Toyota products is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

Road Service Technicians work in a variety of environments depending on customer facilities, including warehouses, distribution centers, workshops, outdoor yards, and manufacturing plants.

The position requires:

• Daily travel to customer locations.
• Good physical condition.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in environments where temperatures, noise levels, and working conditions vary.

The salary will depend on each candidate’s experience and qualifications.
