Job description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanization Technician to provide comprehensive technical support, including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of automated material handling equipment in our distribution center. The role involves supporting facility operations, conducting preventative maintenance, and monitoring system performance. The ideal candidate has experience in maintenance and mechanical repair, basic PLC and motor troubleshooting skills, high mechanical aptitude, basic PC skills, and strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Candidates with a degree or diploma in Electromechanical, Automation, or a related field are preferred. An Industrial Electrician's License (442-A) is considered an asset.

Role Purpose :

Maintain and repair warehouse vehicles including forklifts, trailers, conveyors, and power equipment. Provide mechanical support, including diagnosis and solution, for a dedicated delivery system including preventative maintenance, major repairs, and accident repairs.

Key Accountabilities :

1. Schedule daily maintenance work.
2. Perform repairs on forklifts, conveyors, maintenance equipment, and other warehouse power equipment.
3. Implement preventative maintenance programs on all machines and equipment.
4. Review pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms for immediate maintenance needs.
5. Ensure all maintenance work meets company standards, whether performed internally or externally.
6. Monitor vehicle condition and performance to ensure driver compliance with company driving policies.
7. Manage parts inventory efficiently to support system operation.
8. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Education and Experience :

1. Pass Department of Transportation exam.
2. Pass a mechanical aptitude test.
3. At least 6 months of related experience.
4. 2-5 years of equipment maintenance experience.
5. 1 year of fleet experience.
