Job summary

Sobeys is seeking a Meat Supervisor to lead a busy department, coach staff, and ensure an outstanding customer experience. You’ll supervise daily meat operations, maintain quality and freshness, and support inventory, merchandising, and safety protocols.

This role emphasizes mentorship, accuracy, and strong customer engagement across the department. Ideal candidates bring at least 12 months of experience, a High School Diploma, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience.
• High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Full knowledge of department operations and skills.
• Provide a minimum of 2 names for reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service and meet department goals.
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper rotation while maintaining accurate stock levels.
• Support daily operations including cutting, wrapping, labeling, and merchandising meat products.
• Monitor and uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with ordering, inventory control, and department presentation to maximize sales and minimize waste.
• Act as the key contact for the department in the absence of the Department Manager or Assistant.
