Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Delta, BC, is seeking a Meat Supervisor to lead the meat department, coach a friendly team, and ensure high standards of product quality and customer service. You will oversee daily operations and maintain safety, freshness, and proper stock rotation.

Ideal candidates have at least 12 months in a meat/fresh foods setting, a High School Diploma, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with references available upon request.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience in a meat or fresh foods department.
• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide minimum of 2 names for reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service and meet department goals.
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper rotation while maintaining accurate stock levels.
• Support daily operations including cutting, wrapping, labeling, and merchandising meat products.
• Monitor and uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with ordering, inventory control, and department presentation to maximize sales and minimize waste.
• Act as the key contact for the department in the absence of the Department Manager or Assistant.

The Meat Supervisor is responsible to ensure a superior customer service experience by coaching, and developing friendly, well-trained staff. The Supervisor will supervise the department and staff and act as the go to person in the absence of the Department Manager and Assistant. The Supervisor will foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.
