Job summary

Sobeys Delta location is seeking a Meat Supervisor to lead a fast-paced department and coach a friendly, well-trained staff. You will supervise the department in the absence of the Manager, foster customer loyalty, and support merchandising, quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include training, ensuring product quality and rotation, assisting with ordering and inventory, and maintaining accurate stock while staying compliant with food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Full knowledge of department operations and skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service and meet department goals.
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper rotation while maintaining accurate stock levels.
• Support daily operations including cutting, wrapping, labeling, and merchandising meat products.
• Monitor and uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with ordering, inventory control, and department presentation to maximize sales and minimize waste.
• Act as the key contact for the department in the absence of the Department Manager or Assistant.
