Job summary

Walmart Canada in Bedford, NS is seeking a Meat Associate to support the meat department with outstanding customer service, clean, well-stocked displays, and accurate signing and pricing.

You will follow food safety standards, use slicers and equipment safely, assist with orders and daily tasks, and work a variety of shifts to help the store run smoothly and deliver a positive shopping experience. The minimum rate of pay starts from 17.20 CAD per hour.

Qualifications

• Age - 16 or older
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Keeps the department clean, organized, and properly zoned to ensure it is customer-ready at all times. Rotates stock regularly and removes expired or unsellable products.
• Ensures all merchandise is correctly signed and priced. Follows established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labeling.
• Adheres to food safety and cold chain standards, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration date compliance.
• Takes customer orders and prepares deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken. Uses slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other tools safely to prepare food, fill display cases, and complete special customer orders.
• Follows all Health and Safety guidelines and Company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.
• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.
