Job summary

Friends Foods Ltd. in Boston Bar, BC is hiring a Meat cutter – retail or wholesale to join a self-motivated team. The role is permanent, full-time with day/evening shifts and flexible hours. The starting wage is $20.00 per hour for 35 to 40 hours weekly.

The candidate should have fluent English, a secondary school certificate, and about 7 months to 1 year of similar experience. You will prepare, cut, weigh, wrap, and display meats, while upholding food safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation required.
• 7 months to <1 year experience in a meat-related role.
• Must be punctual, accountable and reliable.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Remove bones from meat and prepare displays.
• Cut meat to customer specifications and prepare various cuts.
• Cut poultry into parts and weigh meats for sale.
• Wrap, package and label prepared meats; ensure display accuracy.
• Train other meat cutters and supervise staff as needed.
• Sell meat to customers and maintain sanitation per regulations.
• Maintain knives and tools, and store products in proper temperatures.
