Job summary

Choices Market in South Surrey is seeking a Part-time Meat Cutter to join our friendly team. You will cut, trim and prepare meat and fish, restock displays, manage inventory and ensure high-quality products are shown to customers.

The ideal candidate has meat/fish cutting experience, a service-oriented attitude, strong teamwork, and the stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and stand all day in a cold environment, including at least one weekend day.

Qualifications

• Experience in cutting meat and/or fish.
• Comfortable working in a cold environment.
• Willing to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Weekend availability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cutting, trimming and preparing a variety of meat and fish cuts.
• Stocking shelves and displays; ensuring presentation is clear and attractive.
• Managing inventory and maintaining high-quality products.
• Ensuring sale items are well represented on shelves and displays.
• Responding to customer inquiries in a prompt, friendly manner.
• Cleaning retail areas and workspaces daily.

Choices Market at South Surrey currently has an opening for a Part-time Meat Cutter. We are looking for a service-oriented individual who is looking for a job with great growth potential!

The Meat Cutter’s responsibilities include:

• cutting, trimming and preparing a variety of meat and fish cuts;
• ensuring shelves and displays are fully stocked and well presented;
• managing inventory and ensuring consistent high quality;
• ensuring items on sale are well represented on shelves and in displays;
• responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries; and
• cleaning retail areas and workspaces on a daily basis.

The ideal employee for this position is:

• experienced in cutting meat and/or fish;
• engaging and friendly, with an unfailingly good attitude;
• service-oriented, and comfortable talking to customers;
• hardworking and a good team player;
• comfortable in a physically demanding job and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs; and
• willing and physically capable of standing on their feet all day.

The ability and willingness to work in a cold environment is absolutely essential. Applicants must also be willing and able to work at least one weekend day per week.

Wage: $22.75/hr
