Job summary

New Horizon Co-op in Grande Cache, Alberta is hiring an experienced Meat Cutter for our Food Store. You will cut, trim, debone and prepare standard meat cuts, wrap and label products, and assist customers with product questions.

What you’ll do:

• Cut, trim, debone and prepare standard cuts of meat according to specifications
• Wrap, label and package prepared meats
• Respond to all customer inquiries regarding different cuts, serving sizes and other product related questions in a courteous and well-informed manner
• Ensure all equipment is clean, well maintained and fully operational
• Perform duties in compliance with established health and safety regulations
• Other duties, as assigned

• Enthusiastic approach to work with strong leadership skills
• Availability to work on a very flexible schedule (Morning and evening shifts on weekdays and weekends)
• Practical working knowledge of daily retail operations
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Can handle cool temperatures, and heavy lifting may be required, up to 50lbs
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Previous Meat Cutting experience is required, previous retail experience is an asset
