Job summary

Central Alberta Co-op in Red Deer is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our grocery team. The role focuses on precise meat slicing, trimming and packaging, plus delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will also manage stock, display merchandise, and uphold strict sanitation and safety standards in a cold environment. This casual, part-time position offers opportunities for growth and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position:

Meat Cutter

Casual:

Less than 24 hours per week

Availability:

Weekdays and weekends- mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service and answer customer questions
• Skillfully slicing, trimming, and preparing a variety of meat selections and cuts, then carefully wrapping and packaging each with utmost precision.
• Manage time efficiently to complete all special orders
• Order, receive, and display merchandise
• Practice safe food handling procedures and wear appropriate attire
• Perform general housekeeping duties, following proper sanitation procedures and maintaining housekeeping logs
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

• Outstanding customer service and communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Correct handling of knives and proficient utilization of other cutting tools
• Experience with food preparation is an asset; training is available
• Capable of working in a cold/refrigerated environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;some heavy lifting is required
• Applicants must be over 14 years old. (Employment Standards mandates a permitto employ a person aged 14 or under, thus disclosure is required.)
