Job summary

Sobeys Inc. through Thrifty Foods Quadra in Victoria, BC invites applications for a Meat Production Clerk. You will interact with customers, answer questions from grilling to nutrition, and learn our meat preparation standards to deliver high-quality selections.

As part of a welcoming team, you will cut and prepare meat, stock displays, write orders, and ensure cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced store environment. Previous retail meat experience is preferred; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail meat cutting preferred.
• Knowledge of different meat cuts is an asset.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and answer questions on meat products.
• Cut and prepare meat for display using knives and saws.
• Stock meat products on shelves and maintain displays.
• Write orders and assist with product rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area.
• Operate commercial power equipment as trained.

What you bring to the table:

• Strong preference will be given to candidates withprevious Retail Meat Cutting experience
• Knowledgeable of various cuts of meat an asset. companyspecific training will be provided
