Job summary

Sobeys Inc. invites applications for a Seafood Clerk at Thrifty Foods Quadra in Victoria, BC. You will engage customers, answer questions on grilling and nutrition, and help prepare and display seafood selections that support the store's reputation for quality.

Experience in seafood helps; Safeway/Sobeys training will be provided. The role requires availability for evenings and weekends and the ability to work in a cold environment at a fast-paced counter.

Responsibilities

• Price seafood for sale and assist in cutting/wrapping fish as needed.

A day in the life of a Seafood Clerk:

You will deal directly with customers and answer questions on everything from grilling to nutrition. Our highly skilled Seafood Clerks are trained here to prepare the outstanding quality selections that Safeway has built its reputation on. Experience

• Preference will be given to candidates with previous Seafood experience
• Safeway specific training will be provided

Key Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Use of hand wrapper and scale
• Pricing seafood for sale
• Washing and cutting fish for seafood counter
• Filling counter and showcases
• Cleaning and sanitizing work area
• Working with raw as well as cooked seafood
