Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of a Warehouse Management System or ERP is an asset.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare manufacturing documentation using hand scanners and computer systems.
  • Pick and package parts in defined kit formats per BOM and packaging standards.
  • Maintain Kit Lot Traceability documentation per Quality Management System.
  • Control inventory by monitoring stock levels and generating re-order requests.
  • Move materials safely within the manufacturing area and perform deburring as required.
  • Assemble parts using hand tools, fixtures, and machines following drawings.
  • Follow shipping/receiving documentation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Enter shipping/receiving data into the computer system daily.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe and organized at all times.

Kitter/Assembler & Shipper/Receiver - Marsh Brothers Aviation

1 Position Available

To efficiently support planned growth in 2026 and beyond, we created the Kitter/Material Handler/Shipper & Receiver role. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that the supply of materials supports the production schedule and that minimum stock levels are maintained to assure operational continuity. The role also coordinates and ensures the safe, efficient transportation of products and supplies between Thomson-Gordon Group facilities and its customers.

Essential Job Functions

The primary job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare manufacturing documentation utilizing hand scanners and/or computer.
  • Pick and package parts in defined kit format ensuring compliance with the Kit Bill of Material and company standard practices for kit packaging.
  • Ensure accuracy of all Kit Lot Traceability documentation in accordance with the company Quality Management System requirements.
  • Ensure accurate inventory controls by monitoring stock levels, recording amounts of materials and items received and distributed, and generating re-order requests.
  • Move materials around the manufacturing area as needed safely, protecting them from handling damage.
  • Perform manual deburring operations on parts when required using hand/power tools.
  • Use hand tools, fixtures, and machines to assemble parts—prepare work by studying parts, assembly drawings, and gathering parts, tools, and materials.
  • Follow up on all shipping and receiving documentation and certification discrepancies.
  • Verify all shipments and receivables are accurate in accordance with the packing documentation.
  • Complete all shipping tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Enter all shipping and receiving documents into the computer database daily.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe and organized at all times.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of a Warehouse Management System or Inventory Management System, or a basic understanding of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, is an asset.
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies for Health and Safety and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods while working at assembly stations and moving between production, kitting, inventory and the shipping areas. The role requires frequent reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive hand and arm movements, as well as manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle small parts and safely use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, measuring devices, scanners, and assembly equipment. The employee must maintain sustained visual attention when reading assembly drawings, verifying part numbers, inspecting components, and completing production or inventory documentation. The employee may be required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted and to move heavier items using approved material-handling equipment. Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works primarily on a manufacturing floor in designated assembly, kitting, shipping, receiving, and inventory areas and routinely uses hand tools, power tools, fixtures, scanners, measuring devices, computers, and material-handling equipment. The environment may include moderate to high production noise, moving machinery and equipment, dust, oils, odours, temperature variation, and other conditions typical of an industrial facility. The employee must follow posted safety procedures, remain alert to pedestrian and equipment traffic, maintain a clean and organized work area, and wear required personal protective equipment, which may include safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment designated for the work area. The position involves working to production schedules and quality standards in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, with frequent deadlines, repetitive assembly or material-handling tasks, and occasional interruptions or changing priorities.
