Inline Group Inc. in Fort McMurray, AB is seeking a Materials Testing Technician to join our growing field team.

You’ll perform on‑site testing of materials—compaction, concrete, asphalt—and input data into reports using manual and digital systems. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of industrial/civil testing experience, a Geotechnical/Civil Engineering diploma or equivalent, knowledge of Nuclear Gauges, and a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of industrial/civil materials testing experience.
• Geotechnical/Civil Engineering diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of Nuclear Gauge usage and field/concrete testing procedures.
• Strong understanding of soil types and practical solutions.
• Class 5 driver’s license with clean record; mine driving in oil sands an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site testing: compaction, concrete, asphalt.
• Prepare reports and enter data using manual and digital systems.
• Maintain and handle testing equipment properly (Nuclear Gauges, lab tools).
• Collaborate with clients and support ISO 9001 and HSE programs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Safety First, Always – Take an active role in site safety meetings, follow all site‑specific requirements, and lead by example to promote safe work practices. Encourage safety interventions and maintain a culture where safety and quality come first.
• Field and Laboratory Testing – Conduct on‑site testing of various materials, including compaction, concrete, and asphalt testing. Prepare reports and enter data using both manual and digital reporting systems.
• Equipment Management – Maintain and ensure proper handling of materials testing equipment, including Nuclear Gauges, concrete testing tools, and laboratory instruments.
• Client Collaboration – Work closely with clients to provide technical expertise and maintain strong relationships. Actively participate in Inline Group’s ISO 9001 Quality Program and corporate HSE program.
• Technical Excellence – Support geotechnical investigations and instrumentation work while ensuring accurate and reliable testing results to meet industry standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experienced Professional – You have 2‑5 years of industrial/civil materials testing experience at an intermediate to senior level. A Geotechnical/Civil Engineering diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Qualified & Skilled – Strong knowledge of Nuclear Gauge usage, field concrete testing procedures, and laboratory testing requirements. Strong all‑around knowledge of soil types, conditions, and practical solutions
• Ready for the Job – You hold a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record, are comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Previous mine driving experience in the oil sands is required.
• Certification – CCIL accreditation in Type-C/HMA, Type‑QF/QL, or CSA is an asset.
