Job summary

Inline Group Inc. in Fort McMurray is seeking a Materials Testing Technician to support field and laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, and related materials. You’ll help ensure safety, quality, and compliance on busy construction sites.

You have 2–5 years of experience, a Geotechnical/Civil Engineering diploma preferred, and a Class 5 driver’s license. Oil sands mine exposure is a plus. Competitive pay, benefits, and training opportunities are offered as part of Inline Group’s commitment to

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of industrial/civil materials testing experience required or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Nuclear Gauge usage, field concrete testing procedures, and laboratory testing requirements; solid soil-type knowledge.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; mine driving experience in oil sands is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safety First, Always – participate in site safety meetings and promote safe work practices.
  • Field and Laboratory Testing – conduct on-site testing of materials (concrete, asphalt, etc.) and prepare reports.
  • Equipment Management – maintain testing equipment including Nuclear Gauges and lab instruments.
  • Client Collaboration – work with clients and support Inline Group’s ISO 9001 Quality Program and HSE program.
  • Technical Excellence – support geotechnical investigations and instrumentation with reliable results.

Join Our Team as a Materials Testing Technician – Exciting Local Opportunity in Fort McMurray!

Are you a skilled and detail-oriented Materials Testing Technician looking to be part of a fast-paced, growing company? What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Safety First, Always – Take an active role in site safety meetings, follow all site-specific requirements, and lead by example to promote safe work practices. Encourage safety interventions and maintain a culture where safety and quality come first.
  • Field and Laboratory Testing – Conduct on-site testing of various materials, including compaction, concrete, and asphalt testing. Prepare reports and enter data using both manual and digital reporting systems.
  • Equipment Management – Maintain and ensure proper handling of materials testing equipment, including Nuclear Gauges, concrete testing tools, and laboratory instruments.
  • Client Collaboration – Work closely with clients to provide technical expertise and maintain strong relationships. Actively participate in Inline Group’s ISO 9001 Quality Program and corporate HSE program.
  • Technical Excellence – Support geotechnical investigations and instrumentation work while ensuring accurate and reliable testing results to meet industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experienced Professional – You have 2-5 years of industrial/civil materials testing experience at an intermediate to senior level. A Geotechnical/Civil Engineering diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Qualified & Skilled – Strong knowledge of Nuclear Gauge usage, field concrete testing procedures, and laboratory testing requirements. Strong all-around knowledge of soil types, conditions, and practical solutions
  • Ready for the Job – You hold a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record, are comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Previous mine driving experience in the oil sands is required.
  • Certification – CCIL accreditation in Type-C/HMA, Type-QF/QL, or CSA is an asset.
