Job summary

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) seeks an experienced Inventory & Warehouse Manager in Canada to oversee raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring accurate counts and efficient material flow.

You’ll coordinate with Purchasing, Planning and Quality, lead daily warehouse operations, implement lean methods, and support production scheduling by tracking material availability. Strong ERP/MRP skills and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or related discipline and/or 5+ years’ experience inventory, warehouse, supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and managing lean warehouse and material replenishment systems (i.e., kanban setups).
  • Proven experience as a hands-on leader who can effectively direct daily warehouse and material flow activities while building team engagement and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain control and accuracy over all inventories (raw material, WIP, finished goods), including material transactions, warehouse operations, and receiving activities.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing/Supply Chain and Planning to ensure components and materials are delivered to support the production process.
  • Lead and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, storage, and delivery to point of use to ensure efficient and accurate material flow.
  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to inventory control, material flow, and warehouse processes.
  • Support production scheduling activities by monitoring material availability, tracking production progress, and identifying potential constraints.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Manager and Quality Manager to implement, and manage systems to evaluate, monitor and report on supplier scorecard performance.
  • Coordinate with MRB Manager, Purchasing Manager, and Quality Manager to resolve vendor return material authorizations in a manner which supports the production schedule.
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Finance, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against future inconsistencies.
  • Participate as a member of the operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and managing lean warehouse and material replenishment systems (i.e., kanban setups)
  • Proven experience as a hands-on leader who can effectively direct daily warehouse and material flow activities while building team engagement and accountability.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for inventory and materials planning (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor Syteline experience is a huge plus)
  • Certifications optional but beneficial: APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification

  • Ability to work in and with an ERP/MRP system
  • Strong analytical skills forinventory management, material tracking, and operational performance
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and timelines

  • Strong leader with a proactive, positive attitude, and a strong sense of self-motivations, accountability, and responsibility
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
