About the Position
We are in search for an experienced Material and Logistics Manager to join our team and lead the strategy and management of materials and logistics for ViaTwo. This is a multi-billion greenfield construction project and the role is pivotal to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of process equipment and materials sourced from Asia, Europe, and the Americas, as well as the management of site laydown and warehousing materials throughout the construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics and Transportation
• Manage international logistics operations and customs activities from suppliers to the construction site
•Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards
•Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions
•Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
Inventory Management
•OS&D (overage, shortage and damaged) at the construction site
•Implement inventory control systems to track and manage the equipment and materials
•Construction laydown and warehousing operations
Project Coordination
•Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, construction and other stakeholders to align material supply with project timelines
•Address any logistical challenges that may arise during the construction phase
•Provide regular updates on material status and logistics to project leadership
Regulatory Compliance
•Ensure all raw materials meet regulatory and quality standards
•Maintain documentation and records for compliance audits
•Stay updated on industry regulations and standards to ensure ongoing compliance
People Leadership
•Lead and mentor a global team of logistics
•Cross functional collaboration including the Procurement, Engineering, and external Service Provider teams
Required Qualifications
• Expertise in material management and international logistics with industrial construction experience, ideally 15-20 years of successful track record
• Preferably from the chemical processing or pharmaceutical industries and ability to build network and partnerships in local market
• Proven track record in building and implementing successful procurement strategies, inventory management, and logistics optimization
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality standards in the industry
• Experience with ERP systems and other supply chain management software
• Demonstrable ability to manage complex mega projects
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with a strong talent for building relationships and networking

Location: Onsite, Southwestern Ontario. Until a permanent office is established, this position will be hybrid with travelling for onsite and team meetings and collaboration.
